Donate

The Batavia Music Buffs is a 501(c)3 organization that supports music in all BPS101 schools. Your generous donation will be used to purchase and repair instruments and equipment, hire clinicians to help teach our young musicians, offer scholarship opportunities, support the costs of uniforms, competitions and concerts - and more!

Donations of any amount are appreciated and can be made in honor of a loved one. Whether you choose to contribute $5, $10, or more, your generosity makes a significant impact. Thank you for supporting our students and the music in our community.

Gift Card Program

RaiseRight is one of the easiest fundraising programs offered and is a no-selling program that allows families to raise money for the Batavia Music Buffs.

RaiseRight can be used to pay for everyday purchases, using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards, while benefiting the Batavia Music Buffs. It really is that simple!

  • Raise Right is a way of purchasing gift cards for the stores you shop at regularly or love to give gifts to. Families can help raise money for the Batavia Music Buffs by purchasing gift cards on raiseright.com. These gift cards all have a rebate per cent, normally between 2% and 16%, which is the amount that will go directly to the Batava Music Buffs.

  • eGift cards
Digital gift cards delivered electronically within seconds.

    Physical gift cards
Plastic or paper-based gift cards that can be shipped to your organization or direct to your home.

    Reloadable gift cards
Allows you to automatically reload funds onto physical gift cards purchased through RaiseRight.

  • Raise Right works with over 750 retailers! With so many retailers you can use Raise Right on basically all of your purchases.

  • Click the “Sign-Up Now” button, below, to set up an account.

Be sure to select Batavia Music Buffs as your organization, and then purchase gift cards to give as gifts or to use for your everyday shopping needs. There is no additional cost to you, and every time you purchase a gift card, the Music Buffs will receive a small percentage of the purchase.

  • It is available all year round! The Batavia Music Buffs hopes you will consider using this service especially with your holiday shopping!

Charms

To inquire about your student's Charms account balance or to transfer funds to a younger sibling after the graduation of an older sibling, please use the button below.

  • Every child enrolled in a band, orchestra, or chorus class at any Batavia school who has participated in a Batavia Music Buffs fundraiser has a Charms account that is managed by a Batavia music teacher. The account is used to track funds that can be applied to various music-related expenses.

  • Students can earn money for their Charms account by participating in designated fundraisers. The amount of Charms money earned depends on the specific fundraiser and the amount sold.

  • The amount of Charms money earned varies with each fundraiser. Detailed earning structures will be provided with each fundraising event.

  • The money in a Charms account can be used for any music-related expenses for the Batavia School District, including:

    • Trip fees (past trips have included Disney and Pearl Harbor; upcoming is the BHS band trip to NYC in Spring 2025)

    • Music field trips

    • Extracurricular ensemble fees (e.g., Marching Band, Show Choir, Winter Guard)

    • Music lessons

    • Instrument rentals

    • Instrument repairs

    • music related parts

    • reeds

    • sheet music

  • The money carries over from year to year and remains in the student’s account for the entire time that they are enrolled in music through Batavia schools. Upon graduation, any remaining balance can be transferred to a sibling upon request, provided the request is made before the graduating student completes their senior year.

Student accounts with balances after BHS graduation, which are not transferred to any sibling(s), will be transferred to the Batavia Music Buffs general fund to benefit all students within the district.

BONUS: Each option includes a 2024-2025 Batavia Music Buffs sponsor window cling.

  • To maximize your efforts and ensure a smooth process, please follow these guidelines when approaching businesses:

In-Person Visits: It is recommended to visit businesses in person whenever possible. Parents should accompany their student during these visits. Be mindful of businesses displaying a “No Soliciting” sign, as they may prefer not to be approached.

Avoid Duplication: To maintain professionalism and avoid confusion, please refrain from approaching businesses that have already been contacted by another student. If a business declines to advertise, please also mark this in the spreadsheet to prevent duplicate visits. If you have businesses in mind, please check the spreadsheet to see if others have already made contact before approaching them.

Online Spreadsheet: We have provided you with a link to an online spreadsheet via email. Here, you can enter your name, the business you approached, and what option the business has selected to participate in. This helps us track progress and ensures fairness by allowing others the opportunity to approach businesses as well.

Limit of 6 Businesses: Please limit your entries to a maximum of 6 businesses during a 2 week timeframe PER student (if multiple music students in a family). This ensures that all students have an equal chance to approach businesses and participate in our fundraiser.

Respect and Courtesy: Always maintain a respectful and courteous attitude when speaking with businesses, whether they choose to advertise or not. Thank them for their time and consideration.

  • Parents and students play a crucial role in facilitating this fundraiser:

Approach Businesses: Students, along with a parent, approach local businesses to discuss advertising opportunities.

Assist with Options: Help businesses select the advertising option that best suits their goals and budget.

Ensure Submission: Instruct businesses to email their ad materials (PDF, JPEG, EPS) to president@bataviamusicbuffs.org

Logos for Website: Submit color logos as PNG or JPG for display on the Music Buffs website (ALL IN package).

Payment Options: Inform businesses they can pay by check (payable to "Batavia Music Buffs") or conveniently on this website under the "Shop" section, indicating you as the referrer.

Benefit for Students: Earn Charms money! Students receive 25% of proceeds directly into their Charms accounts for instrument rentals, lesson fees, and other program expenses.
